Cork Exchange Students

We recently hosted children from Mr Griffin’s old school in County Cork Ireland. The exchange took place with St Vincent’s families hosting the children whilst they were in London. Their experience of London was filled with  excitement from theatres to football matches to name a few items on their itinerary.   They also won the Gaelic tournament they entered which was a great achievement.

They then in return hosted our children who were accompanied by Miss Tuohy and Sean Rooney the PE Teacher from Key Stage 1.  They loved the hospitality of the Irish and it felt like home from home. The trip will be forever remembered as the ‘Battle of the Patricks/Patryks’.

These are a few comments from the children who were on the trip:

The Glen Resource Centre was my favorite part of the trip because they had zip wires, high ropes and ladders which set me up for PGL next year. – Ellen Hai Sycamore Class.

It was my first time in Ireland and I enjoyed everything.  Patryk Ruszala Sycamore Class

I loved when I beat Patryk on the climbing frame in the Resource Centre. Patrick Jones Beech Class

I enjoyed swimming and befriending a stray dog at the beach by the harbour. Patrick J swam out to a buoy which was really far away and he got double biscuits and double crisps for completing the challenge. Charlotte English Beech Class

I just loved it all – Foto Park was another real adventure for us all as well as the City Gaol visit, ringing the Shandon Bells, bowling,  football, the musical entertainment in Schoil Mhuire and clambering a kilometre up onto Camden Fort only to scramble back down again to swim and share a picnic with the ‘Sensible Seven’ in the company of two rather elegant dogs!!  Miss Tuohy
