London History Day 2017

The Mayor of London’s Office has written to all Primary & Secondary schools to ask us to support the first London History Day to celebrate London’s historic diversity by giving young Londoners to have some fun.

On Friday 26th May 2017, all children are asked to come to school dressed as their favourite historic Londoner (both famous and not so famous characters, e.g. Boudica, Elizabeth I, William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Charlie Chaplin, David Bowie, Claudia Jones, Amy Johnson, Mo Farah).

This exciting campaign to celebrate London’s culture, diversity and heritage is being led by Historic England. It’s a fantastic opportunity to reveal more about who we are as Londoners and all the different communities that make London what it is. You can find out more at www.london.gov.uk/LondonHistoryDay.
