Children Campaign for Safer Parking

This week we have been discussing the dangers of the roads around our school at drop offs and pick up times. The children have expressed that they often see children ‘jumping out’ at the lights and cars parked on the zig zag and double yellow lines. We spoke at length about how this makes crossing the road hard as they cannot see potential dangers that are coming their way.

After years of expressing this concern to Barnet we finally received the news that we will be getting a permanent 360 degree camera installed outside of our school to help eradicate inconsiderate and dangerous parking.

The children were glad to hear this and have been creating posters, which we will stick up outside our school. Some have felt so passionate about this that they have asked to do a speech in assemblies.
