Athletics at Alllianz Park

Last Wednesday forty five children from years 3 up to year 6 took part in an athletics tournament for the day. In the morning, we have the field events for years 5 and 6 including long jump, shot put, high jump, javelin and speed bounce. We did very well in these events taking two first places in shot put and two second places in speed bounce. In the afternoon, we then enjoyed a parade around the track where we represented Great Britain. The afternoon events were then to follow and for St Vincent’s this was a fantastic afternoon. We enjoyed sprint races from boys and girls in years 3,4,5 and 6, 400 meter races from children in year 5 and 6 as well as relay races for all year groups. We all had a great afternoon and the children did St Vincent’s exceptionally proud with the results that then followed at the end of the events. Below you can see just how well we did in each event then coming 2nd in the whole tournament with 3 points difference to the top school. This year we had our first tug of war team who did exceptionally well taking 2nd place in the whole tournament. We have some excellent athletes at our school and a huge well done for the effort and support you all gave each other on the day. Well done to you all.
