Staff training on the Zones of Regulation
Last Thursday we shared a staff training with other schools in the Borough on the Zones of Regulation.
Following our training on Mental Health and on Autism, we invited our Autism Advisory teacher, Kim Miller, and the lead in the borough, Kathleen Tripp, to deliver training on the Zones of Regulation. We spent some time looking at how we manage our own emotions and how we regulate them through different activities, so as to move ourselves back to the optimum ‘green zone’. The green zone is where we are able to work at our best.
Our main objective was to look and consider how children move from the differing zones and what we can put in place to ensure they are supported to regulate their feelings and emotions. We are hoping to roll this initiative out across the school.
Many thanks to Kim and Kathleen for facilitating this training.
