National Tree Week 24th November-2rd December 2018

National Tree Week 24th November-2rd December 2018

Across the UK, the presence of trees in cities, towns and rural landscapes continues to add value to our lives every day, in many different ways. The value that trees provide can sometimes be taken for granted: they not only create habitat for all sorts of wildlife, but provide services to humans too. We get food, fuel and building resources from them; they help prevent flooding, clean our polluted air and water supplies and conserve energy.

St Vincent’s have partnered up with The Ridgeway Views at Barratt London across the road to plant a tree in our school grounds to celebrate national tree week. The team came in and met with Pine class and School Parliament where they discussed the history of the National Institute for Medical Research. They also made the children aware of the importance of trees and how we are helping the each other by planting it. Overall, Barratt London will plant over 4000 trees in total when their project is complete.
