LKS2 trip to the local Library

On the morning of Wednesday 15th January 2020, Oak, Silver Birch and Rowan classes took it in turns to visit Mill Hill Library to begin our new project – ‘Can we judge a book by it’s cover?’.

We learned how to use the library, locate books in the sections and take out books using a date stamp.

We travelled on the 240 bus with our teachers, TAs and parent volunteers. Some of us had to sit in different seats to our friends. When we got back to school, we spoke about how this experience made us feel and the reasons why. Then we started to look at Rosa Parks and her experience on the bus in Montgomery, Alabama in December 1955.

An intriguing start to our project and lots more to investigate and learn!
